Everything you need to know before your pup's Spaw Day

Booking & Appointments

You can book by calling us at (361) 816-4483, filling out the contact form on our website, or messaging us on our Facebook page. We'll confirm your appointment within 24 hours.
No, we operate by appointment only. This is how we ensure every pup gets dedicated one-on-one attention without any waiting.
We recommend booking at least 1–2 weeks in advance, especially during holidays and busy seasons. Regular clients can set up recurring appointments.
We understand life happens! We just ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This allows us to offer the spot to another pup in need.
We serve the greater South Texas area, including the Corpus Christi region and surrounding communities.

The Grooming Experience

It means your dog is the only dog being groomed at our facility during their appointment. No other dogs around — just your pup and our groomer. This creates a calm, focused, and stress-free experience. The only exception is if you're bringing multiple dogs from the same family.
Traditional groomers often place dogs in kennels to wait before or after their groom. At Spaw Day, your dog arrives for their appointment time and goes home when they're done. No cages, no waiting, no stress.
It depends on the service and your dog:
  • Full Groom: 1.5–3 hours
  • Bath & Brush: 1–2 hours
  • Pawdicure: 15–30 minutes
  • Senior / Anxiety Groom: 2–3+ hours (we go at their pace)
We never rush. Your pup gets all the time they need.
We find that dogs often behave better and are calmer when their owners aren't present — separation can actually reduce anxiety during grooming. However, we're happy to discuss this on a case-by-case basis.
We use high-quality, pet-safe shampoos and conditioners that are gentle on skin and coat. If your dog has specific allergies or skin conditions, let us know and we'll accommodate with hypoallergenic or medicated products.

Anxiety & Senior Dogs

Absolutely — this is our specialty! Our one-on-one, no-kennel approach was designed specifically for anxious dogs. We take extra time, use gentle handling techniques, allow breaks as needed, and create an environment that's as calm and stress-free as possible. Many dogs who've had bad experiences elsewhere thrive at Spaw Day.
In most cases, yes! We specialize in dogs that other groomers find challenging due to anxiety or behavior. We'll have a conversation with you first to understand your dog's triggers and needs, and we'll develop a grooming plan together.
Senior dogs get the royal treatment with extra care:
  • Slower, gentler pace throughout the session
  • Frequent breaks as needed
  • Comfortable positioning (joint-friendly)
  • Warm (not hot) bath water
  • Extra patience and soothing energy
  • We go at their speed, always
We can groom many dogs with health conditions, but we ask that you inform us in advance so we can prepare appropriately. For dogs with serious medical conditions, we may ask for a vet clearance before grooming.

Pricing & Payment

Pricing varies based on your dog's breed, size, coat condition, service requested, and any special needs. We believe in transparent pricing — contact us for a personalized quote! We're always upfront about costs before we begin.
Because every dog is unique! A small Maltese with a well-maintained coat requires very different work than a large, matted Goldendoodle. Custom quotes ensure you only pay for what your dog actually needs.
We accept cash and all major credit/debit cards. Payment is due at the time of pick-up.

Preparing for Your Appointment

Here are a few tips:
  • Take your dog for a potty break before arrival
  • Don't feed a large meal right before (a light snack is fine)
  • Bring any specific products you'd like us to use (if applicable)
  • Let us know about any changes in health or behavior since booking
  • Relax! Your pup picks up on your energy.
No! We'll take care of the bathing. In fact, it's better if your dog comes in their natural state so we can properly assess their coat condition.
While we don't require proof of vaccination (since your dog is the only one here), we strongly recommend keeping your pup current on all vaccinations for their overall health and safety.
Yes! Dogs from the same family can be groomed during the same session. This is the only exception to our one-dog-at-a-time policy. They often feel more comfortable having a familiar friend nearby.
